1.The internets hottest website is facebook. Everyone is logging on, creating profiles, adding friends, joining groups and interacting with new friends from all over the world. If you are interested in making money online then facebook is a good place to get started.
2.The second thing you need is an online space of your own where you can "sell, promote, list and link". You can get your own domain name and rent space, but my advice is to create a blog at blogger.com. That site is owned by google, which is the most important internet website on earth.
But it is not the first thing you have to do.
First, you have to know what interests you or what your skills and talents are. If you are going to be thinking, eating, breathing and sleeping your money making activity, the best advice is that you enjoy what you are doing.
There is no legal get rich scheme that will enable you to quit your job tomorrow. You are going to have to put some effort into it. If you enjoy what you are doing, you will stay motivated and actually willing to continue to work at it. You have got a winner, if you are willing to continue doing it even if it does not generate any money for you.
Once you've decided upon an activity, then you need a way to earn from it. If you intend to just blog about a topic you could rely upon ad revenue from google, yahoo or other sites like adbrite. If you are going to "sell" someone else's stuff you can sign up as an affiliate at Amazon, Commission Junction or similar site.
3.The third step is to accumulate as many friends as possible without getting banned from facebook. There are groups at facebook whose members are there specifically to add and be added as friends. You will want to join each of those groups.
A free blogger account is easy to setup and run. If you are selling someone else's product, your blog must include all the information you can find on the product. You will want your site to convince the person to buy the product. Be sure to include your affiliate link. Once you've got some original content in your blog you are all set to start getting people to visit it. You want to focus your efforts on getting your facebook friends to hear more about your product by getting them to your blog.
4.The fourth step is create your own group based upon the same product or activity as your blog. Be sure that you include a link to your blog when you are describing your group. This group description with your blog link will show up on the top of the group page in the 'basic info' section. This is visible to all visitors to the group and is the most likely to be indexed by google.
After you join the group you will post a link to the blog account that you setup. You will also post a message on "the wall" asking to be added as a friend. You will then go through the groups members and use the "add as friend" button to request being added as their friend. If you are going to include a personal message, be sure to vary the message or you will be warned you are spamming. It is easier and safer to skip the message.
You should also join other groups that interest you or that can be helpful to you. For instance, the "How To Make Money On Facebook - Tips and Techniques" facebook group includes added links and in depth suggestions which will be beneficial in your business.
5.The fifth and last step is to continue to add group members and friends as you promote your blog. You must continue to monitor the group and your personal profile. Do not abandon them or your blog space.
As a group administrator you can send an invitation to all your friends to join the group. Be sure to use the group tools to send the invitations.
Regardless of what other people say, success is based upon work, dedication, luck and putting yourself in the right place at the right time.
